Update on Spring Sports

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding many things today, but the Winamac Athletic Department would like to update everyone on where we are at currently with spring sports. Governor Holcomb’s announcement yesterday that all Indiana schools will be closed until May 1st means that all athletic practices and events will be cancelled for the

Winter Banquets

The Winamac Boys’ Basketball team will be having their end-of-season banquet on Tuesday, March 17th at 5:30 PM in the high school media center. The Winamac Cheerleaders will have their banquet on Thursday, March 19th at 5:00 PM in the high school conference/meeting room.

Wrestling Banquet

The Winamac Wrestling team had the end-of-season banquet on March 12th. Award winners were Jason Tankersley (Most Takedowns, Most Pins, Outstanding Wrestler & HNAC MVP), Tyler Perry (Most Improved), Brendan Day (Academic Award & Warrior Award), Cameron Benesh (Most Improved) and Phillip Crippin (Most Nearfalls).  

Lady Warriors

The Lady Warriors wrapped up their season with an end of the season banquet.  Their overall season record: Varsity 15-11 and JV 18-4! Award Winners: All Conference: Hailey Sanders, Maggie Smith, & Kendal Johnson Honorable Mention: Blake Bailey Acadmic All Conference: Taylor Jennings, Hailey Sanders, Sammy DePoy, Aubrey Gearhart, & Emily Rausch Co-MVP’s: Kendal Johnson

Upcoming for the Warriors

With the final Winter sport wrapping up this past week with our Boy’s Basketball Sectional, our Warriors are starting to gear up for Spring  season. Our Softball and Baseball Teams have been using all the time they can get to prepare for their openers on March 31st. Baseball will be at Winamac vs. John Glenn

Sectional 37 Class 2A

This year’s boys Sectional 37 class 2A will be hosted here at the Winamac Community Highschool. Game one will be Lewis Cass vs. Winamac, game two will be North Newton vs. Rensselaer Central, game three will be the winner of game one vs. Rochester, and game five will be the winner of game two vs.
