Multiple Teams · Middle School XC

unnamedThe Winamac Middle School Girls Cross Country team is still running strong! They competed at the Culver Military Invitational last Saturday and finished 14 out of 36 teams! The team really pulled together for their best team run of the year. There were 303 runners in the girls middle school varsity race. Alexis Sheets led the team with an 18th place finish and Kate Collins followed right behind with a 26th place finish. Both girls received a medal for their outstanding performance. Kingsley Kroft another 8th grader has really pulled through as the season is coming to a finish. She ran third for the team with a 62nd place finish and had her personal best time. She has really started to shine these last couple of meets and sets a great example for the younger girls on how to compete. To finish our top 7 scoring team on Saturday was three 6th graders and a 7th grader.  Maggie Smith, Piper Link, Kelsey Wegner and Ariana Gualajara are all hard-workers and have stepped up for the team this year! Keep up the hard-work and lets come home with a Conference Victory!

Over the past two weeks, the Winamac M.S. Boys’ Cross-Country team has recorded victories over Pioneer, Knox, and Triton.  Eighteen “personal bests” have been set in the past four meets.  Cristian Cardenas is leading the Warrior pack with a “personal best” time of 11:05.  He led the Warriors at the CMA Invitational this past weekend with a 22nd place finish (out of 334 runners), earning him a medal.  Running second for the Warriors is Kolbey Wegner with a “personal best” of 11:50.  Kolbey is running strong and consistently scores for our team in the number two position.  Tyler Perry (12:20), Andrew Cardenas (12:46), Mitchell Bonnell (12:53), Conner Burton (12:59) and Tyler Tankersley (12:17), are all running very well, yet like to rotate positions each and every meet, rounding out our top seven runners.  Other great contributors to our team’s success thus far this season are:  John Malchow (13:02), Braeden Linhart (12:39), Karsten Sandberg (14:36), Jacob Sanders (13:58), Cooper Jones (14:06), Jacob Housinger (14:39), and A.J. Rimpler (15:33).  The Warriors compete at home this evening (Monday, Sept. 25th at 5:00 p.m.) vs. Carroll and Lewis Cass.  They will then travel to KV for the KV Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 28th and will end their season at home on Saturday, Sept. 30th at 11:30 a.m. for the HNAC Meet.  Keep up the good work, Warriors!  You can do it!  End the season strong… WARRIOR STRONG!!!
