Being the best athlete anybody could possibly be doesn’t just happen during the season. This summer, Max Murray tried something new to improve his goal keeping skills for his upcoming year of soccer. Being totally in check with his game is something that he has always pushed himself to accomplish. While participating in the Indiana University Soccer Camp, Max had learned so much more to give his game a little more edge. Learning new drills, new ways to dive, and new positions on the goal, are all things that he came back home with. Since then, Max and many more people can tell that he is no longer the same goalkeeper as he was at the beginning of soccer season his freshman year. On the first day of camp, Max was put through a strenuous workout to find out where his skill level was at. Once they found what level he should be placed in, the intense camp had begun. Filled with defensive drills, to goalkeeping drills, Max was constantly pushing himself to improve. To top off all of the exciting things that had been occurring at camp, a mock World Cup had taken place. Although Max’s team didn’t receive the trophy, he was able to come home with new found goalie skills, loads of new friends, and a lifetime of memories!
